THE DISTURBINGLY LONESOME COWBOYS

The Disturbingly Lonesome Cowboys - Diesel Dykes O' Dixie

Liner Notes:
The founding members of the DLC first met in 1988 at a bar after attending court-ordered AA meetings.  However, two founding members, Scratch and Snifter, were returned to custody after being recognized on "America's Most Wanted." Aside from their collective rap sheet, this is the Cowboy's first legitimate "record".

Travis and Rudy, (the soul of the group) are the Lennon and McCartney of the trailer park set.  Travis first practiced his emotive lyrics on Jr. High School bathroom walls ("here I sit" being noted as his "signature" work).

Rudy, however, came to his fame another route.  In August 1977, at the funeral at Graceland, he urinated into the mouths of dysfunctional co-dependent divorced moms, all of them Elvis fans.  Their subsequent acceptance of this male-dominated humiliation made him a demi-god in their eyes.

In 1988, Travis and Rudy decided to form a band called "The Silver Kwarrymen".  Although they met with limited success, it wasn't until their offering to Satan of their drummer that things began to happen.  Their first movie, "A Hard - On's Night," set the standard for what was to become.  Unfortunately, a lengthy and costly lawsuit with Berry Gordy depleted all future royalties.

Reduced to working with Andy Gibb, Rudy and Travis soon found themselves negotiating a cable deal for "Mid-Life Crisis Dance Fever" on the Nashville Network.  Had it not been for David Lynch's subsequent hearing of "Ol' Blue" (while casting "Wild At Heart"), the art of the cowboys may have never been heard by a new, young and appreciative audience.

We are now pleased to offer this selection of down home country hurtin' to the public at large.  Let the world know The Disturbingly Lonesome Cowboys have arrived.

We respectfully dedicate this album to George Jones for showing us the door to man's innermost torment - Travis & Rudy
